Q. Why a subscription?

We all have busy lives and the subscription will send you fresh bamboo toothbrushes right to your door just when you need to replace them.

Q. How do I subscribe?

Head to the subscription page. Choose your delivery frequency, tell us how many bamboo toothbrushes you would like to receive, and place your order. Once your toothbrushes arrive, enjoy plastic-free brushing. You can pause, cancel or change your subscription at anytime.

Q. How do I cancel or amend my subscription?

We use an online self service system and you simply login and amend. If you already have an account, you can login here.

Q. Is there a contract?

No contract is needed.

Q. Can I gift a subscription box?

Yes you can. Create a subscription as you would normally, and insert the receiver’s delivery address instead of your own.

Q. Can I try a toothbrush rather than subscribe?

Although you can subscribe and cancel anytime, we realise some customers like to order 1 toothbrush to try out. You can order one-off purchases in our bamboo toothbrush shop.

Q. Are my payment details secure?

Yes they are. We use Stripe Payments or PayPal, you choose at checkout. Both are secure payment systems widely used by online businesses. Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1 which is the highest grade of payment processing security. Your payment information is safe and secure.

Toothbrush Care

Q. How long can you use a BlueRock bamboo toothbrush?

Dentists recommend changing your toothbrush around every 2-3 months. Our toothbrushes are densely packed with high-quality bristles to ensure durability and thorough cleaning, however after time they will not be as effective. Old toothbrushes harbour bacteria and replacing them frequently is required for optimal hygiene. Toothbrushes should always be replaced after any illnesses.

Q. How long will my bamboo toothbrush last compared to a normal plastic toothbrush?

Our toothbrushes will last just as long. In some cases, they may last longer because bamboo naturally has anti-bacterial properties. This means our toothbrushes can fight off germ build-up.

Q. How should you care for your bamboo toothbrush?

Once you have finished brushing, rinse off the toothpaste. Then dry your brush upright so water doesn’t stay in the bristles. Replace your toothbrush regularly and after any illness.

Environmental & Sustainability

Recycle Bin.png

Q. What material are the bristles made from and is it recyclable?

The bristles are made from Nylon-6, which is recyclable. The colouring comes from a dye, also based in Nylon-6. Our bristles are made from the company DuPont, promising a high purity so it can be recycled into a reusable high-quality Nylon in another product.

Q. How are the bristles attached to the bamboo handle?

The bristles are machine punched into the handle so we do not need to use glues or other adhesives. After use, the bristles can be pulled out with pliers to separate the materials, allowing them to be recycled and composted accordingly.

Q. Are the nylon bristles biodegradable?

Nylon-6 will biodegrade quicker than other plastics, however it is not suitable for home composting and requires an industrial composting facility. We recommend removing the bristles and putting them with your recycling collection instead, so they can be recycled into a new product.

Q. Are BlueRock bamboo toothbrushes compostable?

The bamboo handles are suitable for home composting. However, the bristles are not. When you are replacing your brushes, pull the bristles out with pliers and put them in the recycling bin, separate to the compostable handle.

Q. How long will it take for the bamboo handles to biodegrade?

Surrounded by warm and wet compost, your toothbrush should biodegrade within 6 months. Time will vary a lot depending on the specific compost bin.

Q. How do I dispose of my bamboo toothbrush?

Separate the bristles from the handle by pulling them out with pliers. Put the bristles with your recycling collection and put the handle in your home compost.

Q. Why have you used bamboo?

Bamboo is an extremely sustainable material, toxin free, anti-bacterial and entirely biodegradable.

Q. Is your packaging recyclable?

All our packaging is entirely paper-based and plastic-free. Therefore all our packaging is recyclable.

Q. Is your postal box sustainably sourced?

Yes, your toothbrushes come in a box that is PEFC registered. (PEFC/16-33-266)
